Summary
The article argues that the prophetic ministry is currently undergoing a shift, moving past a mere focus on delivering information about what God is doing next. While information is foundational, I contend thrtr is a missing piece—the catalyst for maturity. To fully mature, the prophetic must move beyond just the "what" and press in to discover the "WHY" behind the prophecy.
Introduction
Have you been desiring or sensing a shift in the prophetic? In conversations with other prophetic types, pastors, and leaders, there is a growing uneasiness with where the prophetic presently sits. There seems to be a desire for more, but until recently, I haven't understood the what, how, and why behind these desires. These are a few initial thoughts from my time with the Father. I pray they are encouraging to you.
The Current Focus of the Prophetic Gift
For many years, the prophetic gift—and the calling to stand as a prophetic voice—has largely centered on the release of vital information. We’ve been focused on delivering insight and understanding about what God is doing or is preparing to do next. This is good work; it gives shape to our faith and anchors our revelations.
However, over time, I’ve realized (as many of you may have as well) that there is a critical, often-overlooked missing piece that stands between the current level of the prophetic ministry and its next place of maturity. The only way to discover this missing part is to intentionally dig deeper into our relationship with the Father.
The Relational Dance: Pursuit of God's Heart
This missing piece—the catalyst for maturation in the prophetic ministry—has everything to do with the relational dance between God and humanity. It is about our ongoing, passionate pursuit of Him, because we know He relentlessly pursues us.
It is time to make our ceiling our floor in the prophetic. It’s time to move past settling for a snapshot of information and press in to fully open the heavens—not just to receive more information, but to discover more of God's heart behind why He is releasing that information onto the earth today.
When we consistently pursue God’s WHY behind the prophecy, we don't just get a clearer picture; we capture the very heart of God for the person or people receiving the message. This deeper revelation gives us the wisdom and authority necessary to steward that prophetic word and see it fully actualized.
The truth is, we often fall short because we stop at the level of information. While knowledge is foundational, it is simply not the ultimate heart of God for the prophecy. For the prophetic to step into a new place of maturity, relational depth is required.
I'd like to encourage you to join me in this pursuit. Let us commit together to raising the standard of the prophetic gift, moving from excellent information to profound revelation of the Father's Divine Heart.
🔑 Key Takeaway
Prophetic maturity requires a shift in focus from merely receiving and releasing information (the "what") to passionately pursuing and understanding God's heart (the "why") behind the revelation. This deeper relational depth is the missing piece that enables true authority and wisdom to steward the prophetic word.
In essence: Moving from Information to Intimate Relationship is the catalyst for the next level of the prophetic gift.
Questions To Help Create Conversations
Do you personally sense an "uneasiness" or desire for a shift in the prophetic ministry today? If so, how would you describe the difference between what we currently see and what you believe is possible?
Above, I identify the "relational dance" and the pursuit of God's heart as the catalyst for maturity. How specifically do you believe focusing on God's 'WHY' (His heart) transforms the delivery or impact of a prophetic word?
How can church leaders and pastors best champion and cultivate this move toward a deeper, relational prophetic culture within their congregations?
Many Blessings
