What is a prophetic pioneer?
When I first began pondering this idea of prophetic pioneers, I had a little chip on my shoulder. All I seemed to hear from prophetic types was about three to six months ahead. Not that this is wrong; it's just not very interesting to me. Thus, a chip was lodged on said shoulder. Once I knocked the chip off, or was that the Lord? Well, either way, now that the chip was removed, I discovered why it was there in the first place.
Pioneers are generally looking years, if not decades ahead. Pioneers forge into territory that hasn't been discovered and often seen as fools, dreamers, or dismissed. In the early years of being a pioneer, it can be frustrating and create more than a chip on one's shoulder. It can develop into a full-fledged rejection of all things prophetic. When time after time the pioneer brings an understanding of what is coming down the road, maybe twenty years ahead, the majority of people don't seem interested. It doesn't make sense in the now. It lacks perspective for how it affects us today. Who cares about decades ahead when we're struggling with issues today?
Then the question came to mind; Why are the issues today so prevalent, and could they have been silenced if we had known about them when they were a speck on the horizon?
Oh, this made me rise up and face some truths.
Why are the pioneers not heard?
Is there a better way for the pioneers to be heard?
What should I be willing to do about this?
If we are to be heard by a greater majority and make the impact for our children's children, then there needs to be change on our part as pioneers. We must begin facing some truths about our nature and purpose in the kingdom.
